General Production Assistant

Rietvlei, in the heart of Simondium, has an exciting opportunity for a General Production Assistant to join the agricultural team! Agricultural students who need to complete their practical are also invited to apply.

Requirements

• A completed National Senior Certificate qualification (matric / Grade 12) (tertiary education would be beneficial)
• Experience with beef cattle, dairy, chickens and AI would be beneficial
• Practical knowledge of irrigation
• Computer literate
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English
• Must be able to work independently and well in a team and motivate people
• Honest, reliable individual with sober habits
• Hardworking

Responsibilities

• General farming operations
• Pasture management
• Managing irrigation programmes
• Planting, calculation and management of rations for different divisions
• General wellbeing of livestock on the farm
