Baker
Babylonstoren has an exciting opportunity for a passionate, people-oriented and meticulous baker to join the bakery team. This position will focus on the manufacturing and processing of baked goods, mainly breads. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and positive professional with experience in the baking industry.
Requirements
- A completed National Senior Certificate qualification (matric / Grade 12).
- At least five years’ relevant baking experience.
- Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters.
- HACCP knowledge would be advantageous.
- Keen eye for detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload.
- Excellent time-management and planning skills.
- Self-motivated individual who takes initiative.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to collaborate with team members to solve problems.
- Ability to lift heavy items for an extended time.
- Ability to read and follow recipes.
- This role requires shift work.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the bakery supervisor with relevant tasks.
- Production planning and workload prioritising.
- Weighing and mixing ingredients, fermenting dough and baking goods.
- Performing post-baking quality inspection and evaluation.
- Performing daily stock-take and relevant communication.
